Day at the Water Park

The other day my cousin-in-law, Trish and her son Eric came down to visit for a few days from Winnipeg. Eric wanted to go to the Water Park so I called up Laura to see if she wanted to come with her boys.

Curtis had soo much fun and kept wanting Auntie to run through the water with him and get wet too. Some how I managed to just encourage him to run through and I just got a little wet from the spray.

Here are a few pictures of Austin in the little wading pool with Laura and some of Curtis running through the water.
We also got to see the new baby Swans (I this the correct term is Cygnet) with the mom and dad. There have been warnings out for people visiting the park to keep their distance as they are very protective of their babies so we stood back and I used my handy zoom lense to get these. I can honestly say I don't think I have ever seem baby swan's before in real life.

Our Mini Vacation

Jeff and I are back from our Mini Vacation. We left on Friday, July 4th bright and early around 8:30 a.m. and arrived in Fargo, North Dakota around 6:30 p.m. . We stayed until Monday, July 7th when we headed to Grand Forks and came home through Winnipeg. On the way down a herd of antelopes crossed the road right in front of us and I have to admit I have never seen a baby antelope before so I had to take a picture.

Our hotel in Fargo was exactly like a log cabin. We felt like we should have been on a ski hill not downtown :) I choose this hotel as it was brand new as it just opened at the end of February so I figured it would be nice and clean for Jeff!! He must have liked it and felt that it was clean/new enough because on our second night he actually walked with bare feet on the carpet!!!! That is just completely unheard of for him!!

We did a lot of shopping and took in the fireworks on Friday night which last 35 mins compared to our local 12 minute show so that was really nice. They also had some unique fireworks that we have never seen before I will attach a few videos if I can. We also went on a Pontoon Boat Ride on the Red River. There are a few pictures on the boat as well as pictures of the original railroad bridge support which they still use. There is also a picture of a cage which is actually where the Zoo at one time was the those cages were where the 2 bears lived.

We got a new TOY!!

For the past couple of weeks Jeff has been bugging me about buying a quad that a friend of ours was wanting to sell. It was brand new and he wanted to buy a bigger and faster one so after a few weeks of non-stop (litterally) asking I caved it. But don't get me wrong I think I like it just as much as he does :)
On Saturday after the boys had enough of the garage for the day we went and picked it up and then drove out to Mom and Dad's to take it for a quick spin before dark.

Summer Fun - June 28, 2008

While Dad was helping us with the garage Mom and I were watching Curtis. One of our neighbours has a son who is 4 1/2 who was playing across the street in his pool and invited Curtis to come over and play. They had soo much fun together. Here are a few pictures.

Garage Project

This weekend we really go underway with our garage. Jeff Wilson (our great neighbour), Jeff, father-in-law Gary and our great friend Andy came over on Saturday to stand the walls up for the garage.

The guys worked from about 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and this is where they were at the end of day 1.

Then on Sunday morning around 9:30 a.m. the guys came back and put the roof on. This time it was Jeff Wilson, Jeff, Gary, my dad, and our friend Mike. It is amazing, to me anyway, how quick a structure can go up. It is the finishing work that takes so long.
