It all started on Monday, April 9th when I thought that I was getting the flu. I was achy and my stomach was hurting. Tuesday my aches were still there but my stomach no longer was hurting. Then Wednesday I got stomach spasms which forced me to go to the doctor where after some x-rays I was told I had kidney stones, I was given some medication and was told to go home and rest for a day or two and they should dissolve or pass through but to come back on Friday for some re-testing just to make sure.
I took Thursday off work and went back to work on Friday feeling not too bad, my stomach was just sore on the lower right side but nothing that was unbearable or that needed pain medication. I went back to the doctor around 1:30 waited till 2:15 before I got to actually see the doctor. She was worried that it may be my appendix so she instructed me to go to the hospital for bloodwork and then the doctor in Emergency would let me know my results.
At 3:00 I was at the hospital getting blood work done then was instructed to wait in the Emergency for my results. Doctor came in and was still skeptical that it maybe my appendix so he ordered a CT scan, then and ultrasound and at 5:15 I was told that I would have to have surgery to have my appendix removed.
At 6:00 p.m. I was sent upstairs for surgery and stayed in the hospital until Monday @ 9:30 a.m. It was the longested 3 days of my life. Needless to say I have a greater appreciation for visiting people who are in the hospital now. I will be making an effort to visit anyone I know because it made such a difference in making time go by faster.
This last week has went by really fast and I get my stiches out on Friday (which will be a nice relief cause they are starting to pull).
Well I better stop rambling on but before I got I want to thank everyone who has visited me both at the hospital and at home. As I said above it makes a big difference in passing the time and it is always nice to know that your loved. The flowers are still beautiful that I received and I have really enjoyed them. Thanks again to everyone!
